Why variable speed?

A single-stage AC runs at full power whenever it is on, which can create temperature swings and higher energy use. A variable-speed system can adjust its capacity to the cooling demand, supporting steadier temperatures, better humidity control, quieter operation, and lower energy costs.

AC Squad completed a full installation and relocated the old HVAC system to create a cleaner garage layout, improve airflow, simplify future maintenance, and deliver better comfort.

What we did

Removed the old indoor unit
Relocated the new RunTru by Trane ↗ system to another area of the garage
Used a coffin box stand from Metal Shop ↗ for better support
Installed a new ductboard return for improved airflow
Rebuilt the plenum and mounted a return grille in the ceiling

Why the relocation mattered

Redesigning the airflow path made the new setup more efficient, easier to service, and better suited to the home’s layout.
